Skymira 4-Wire IP Relay

Highly Secure PTT Comms Anywhere

Connect any two-way radio to any satellite, cellular, or other IP network.

The Skymira 4-Wire IP Relay (4Wire-IPR) is a highly secure radio over IP (RoIP) gateway that extends land mobile radio coverage over satellite, cellular, and private networks. This is next-generation technology engineered by Skymira to solve coverage, security, and visibility challenges for land mobile radio (LMR) systems.

The 4Wire-IPR is manufacturer- and network-agnostic, meaning it works with any radio and connects to any IP network. It seamlessly integrates into new and existing radio systems to extend coverage and expand functionality. With automatic network switching, it ensures critical communications go through every time – beyond the boundaries of traditional networks.

For P25 radio systems, the 4Wire-IPR enables GPS tracking of portable P25 radios from any manufacturer – providing much-needed visibility of dismounted officers and real-time emergency alerts even outside of P25 system coverage.

Designed for those who rely on push-to-talk (PTT) communications in mission-critical operations, the Skymira 4Wire-IPR combines extended coverage, secure architecture, real-time location visibility, and advanced interoperability in a single RoIP gateway. This ensures reliable communications and improved situational awareness wherever duty calls.

Benefits

Reliable Coverage

By filling in radio coverage gaps, the 4Wire-IPR enables PTT communications beyond the horizon. Harnessing the power of internet networks means you aren’t bound by the limited reach of radio towers, ensuring you can count on your comms to work when and where they’re needed.

Network Redundancy

Built-in redundancy and automatic network failover keep communications online during outages and disasters. Stay focused on the mission knowing your radios will have coverage even when primary networks fail.

Officer & Crew Safety

Whether a team is reporting conditions, requesting additional resources, or calling for backup or assistance, reliable connectivity is essential. The Skymira 4Wire-IPR ensures teams stay connected and get real-time updates when it matters most.

Cost Savings

By eliminating time spent searching for coverage, reducing backtracking, and enabling efficient routing and timely updates, the 4Wire-IPR quickly pays for itself. It further lowers costs by upgrading existing radio systems without requiring new infrastructure or extensive retraining.

Augment Existing Equipment

Bring modern capabilities to existing equipment with minimal retraining. Using familiar radios leads to fewer errors, less resistance, and faster implementation.

Real-Time GPS Visibility

Track and map individuals, vehicles, and equipment for real-time visibility. See emergency alerts and location information for individuals and teams working beyond the reach of traditional radio coverage.

Rapid Deployable Network

GoKIT configuration available to establish radio coverage within minutes of disasters, emergencies, and outages. Plug-and-play setup makes it easy to provide secure, reliable communications for temporary sites, special operations, large events, and disaster recovery efforts.

Regulatory Compliance

Secure comms throughout your territory supports compliance with government and industry regulations. Remote OTAR (over-the-air-rekeying) reduces the burden of keeping organization-wide encryption and security up to date.

Stay Online During Outages and Disasters

Gain disaster resilience for your push-to-talk network to keep critical communications online. Through outages caused by natural disasters like hurricanes, infrastructure failures like power outages, and other causes, ensure everyone has real-time comms regardless of what’s going on.

4Wire-IPR vs P25-IPR

The Skymira 4-Wire IP Relay (4Wire-IPR) and the Skymira P25 IP Relay (P25-IPR) both extend radio communications over satellite, cellular, and other IP networks. Both support mission-critical operations and can be deployed in-vehicle, in GoKITs, or at fixed sites.

The main differences are compatibility and hardware configuration:

Radio Compatibility: The 4Wire-IPR works with any radio standard (including DMR, P25, and NXDN) and connects via radios already in operation, making it a lighter and more cost-effective option for many deployments.

Hardware Configuration: The P25-IPR is for P25 radio systems and includes a built-in P25 radio for situations that require an integrated radio. Both can be used together to support different operational requirements across a radio system.
